Anchorage Barn Veterinary Clinic's Team

Marcel Florax

Marcel Florax DVM MRCVS

Marcel, of Dutch nationality, graduated in 1989 from Ghent University in Belgium. In that year he moved to England not having any aspirations then to become a solo practitioner, as was more the case in the Netherlands and Belgium at that time.
He first started work in a mixed animal practice in Suffolk.

It wasn’t until 1991 that Marcel moved to North West Norfolk to work in a companion animal practice, living and working in the county which he now calls home.

In 1997 the opportunity arose to buy the ‘East Rudham Veterinary Centre’ now known as ‘Anchorage Barn Veterinary Clinic’ and Marcel decided that going solo and becoming the owner of his own practice was the way forward for him.

Professionally Marcel’s special interests are medicine and soft tissue surgery. Outside his profession he enjoys playing hockey for ‘The Pelicans’ in King’s Lynn, sailing, skiing and barbecuing a roast or fish and not just when the weather is good! He has two dogs, a Labrador and a Terrier, and cat who enjoys going for a walk with the dogs and then ambushing them.
